Nobody shreds like August Burns Red.
The ABR-OD is the only overdrive on earth with the specific EQ, clipping, and tonal balances preferred by guitarists JB Brubaker, Brent Rambler, and Dustin Davidson.
"Over the course of their 20+ year career, the members of August Burns Red have picked up on a thing or two about guitar tone. Together with Tallon Electric, they leaned in on their wisdom and experience to design the ideal overdrive pedal."

I've used this pedal with my Mesa Badlander and EVH 5150 III and it sounds amazing on both! The Bite knob has a surprising amount of range. When combined with fine adjustments of Drive knob, and the unique voicing's of both modes (drop and tight), this pedal will give you're guitar that perfect push into a high gain amp to make it roar! I'd highly recommend this pedal for anyone looking to get that ABR style of tight chugging out of a 5150, or forge a new sound with most other modern hi-gain amps. The Constellations album cover on the pedal is just *chef's kiss* - great stuff.
Used on an Orange CR120 clean channel and I'm not getting the desired sound as heard in your demonstrations. I will test out on a different amp and see if that fixes the issue. I prefer my tone to be digital... I thought that this pedal would sound exceptional on any amp on a clean setting. I'm 99% sure that if I added my Preamp pedal to the chain it would instantly fix the issue, but sadly not enough room on my travel pedal board for my preamp and ABR-OD. I will update my review after testing on other amps in case the borrowed amp from a rehearsal studio was the issue. I think this pedal would greatly benefit to have a built in preamp and some gain/eq settings
Hey Alex! I wanted to reply publicly here in case anybody had the same experience. The ABR-OD is designed to act as the preamp/EQ in front of your amplifier (or amp sim). It definitely doesn't replace the gain that you get with something like the Peavey 6505 that the guys in ABR like to use! I recommend switching to your CR120 dirty channel, then use the ABR-OD to tighten up the overall tone and give the amp's preamp that extra little push. Hope this is helpful!
quelle faiblesse du signale! je ne comprends pas! j'ai beau tout pousser au max,je n'ai qu'un son crunch ridicule! aidez-moi par pitié!
Awesome pedal!
Perfect little drive pedal if you're into that metal core tight sound. Believe it or not I actually like the mode switch in the opposite way it's advertised. I like the drop mode when I'm just in drop C or even D more than tight mode and tight mode more when I'm dropped lower than C. I just feel like it's almost too tight in the tight setting for higher tunings and the drop mode really boosts the low end in a cool and pleasing way, even in the higher tunings. Where as the tight mode is so tight it's almost like a gating effect which is helpful for tightening up the super dropped stuff like B and A. Anyway, just my two cents, love love love it. Stays out front my Fractal always and frees up a ton of CPU not using a drive block 😜. Good stuff
